Founder’s Notes: Building a Future on My Own Terms
For me, entrepreneurship was not just a career move. It was personal.
I spent 10+ years in corporate marketing before I founded Mug Life Marketing + Creative in 2019. I loved the work. Strategy. Branding. Campaigns. Creative direction. Helping businesses grow.
But throughout those 10+ years, I was living with Epilepsy, and I was being driven to and from work by my mom and later my husband. I had my license, but living with epilepsy means knowing that you are always one seizure away from it being revoked.
When I was going through my divorce, that reality became heavier.
I realized that if my ability to commute could change at any time, I needed a career that did not depend on it.
Entrepreneurship was not about chasing freedom. It was about creating security and stability.

Mug Life Marketing + Creative was born from that decision.
Yes, I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. I was told that for years. My grandparents were entrepreneurs. I love marketing. I love design. I genuinely love helping people bring their ideas to life.
But entrepreneurship, for me, was also about building a future that worked with my circumstances, not against them.
Entrepreneurship is often romanticized. The flexibility. The independence. The control.
For me, it was all of that, but it was also practical. It was strategic. It was necessary.
Mug Life Marketing + Creative is not just a digital agency. It is the result of my experience, my circumstances, and my decision to build something sustainable on my own terms.
And that foundation still shapes how I operate today.
Thank you for following my Mug Life,
